CHINA- A HIDDEN WONDER
China has surpassed all expectations that I as an American
had. From its lovely and welcoming people to its beautiful
outdoors and modern cities.

NEW YORK-
China, has become a hidden wonder to all foreigners
who travel to it. From my many experiences being in different
countries outside of the United States, China provided the comfort
of home.
My first destination during my three-week stay was
Shanghai, just 11,888 km away from my home town New York City. As
an American, I tended to envision China as a large country filled
with rice farms and people riding bicycles. However, I was taken
by surprise at how modern this hidden country was. Shanghai has
nothing to envy from my modern home town, New York City. I was
very impressed with Shanghai’s subway system, it is one of the
1 cleanest and fast paced systems I have yet seen through my
travels. Its modern and enticing shopping centers provided me with
the comfort that I never expected to have far from home; needless,
to say that the food was also amazing! Chinese culture is filled
with enthusiastic, caring, friendly, and loving people. I am happy
to have met such wonderful people through my stay in China.
While I was in Xi’an I learned to enjoy their spicy cuisine.
When one travels, a common recommendation is always said to be
that, the better restaurants are the ones found in the least
expected places. This being true, I had the pleasure of having the
best spicy noodles in the least expected place, just a block away
from the city walls. Xi’an is known to produce the best noodles
in all of China; due to my experience, I believe this as a true
fact. Pandas, are a “Must see” while visiting China, my
experience was not completed until seeing the friendly bears.
There are certain expectations one has when thinking about China,
and Pandas are definitely one of them. I had the opportunity to
see them twice both in the zoo’s of Chongqing and Beijing.
Overall my favorite part of the trip was the time spent in a
cruise down the Yangtze River. The scenery seen while sailing
through the Yangtze is by far the most gorgeous I have ever seen.
China has opened my mind to a new country hidden away from
the western world. It’s hidden beauty is something I wish others
have the privilege to see one day.
